Growing up on a beautiful Bay in the small Cuban town of Bahia Honda, I would have never imagined that I'd be living in Minnesota, far from the ocean and the beaches. But I can also see now that even back then I was destined to be in fashion. Helping my mother choose her outfits and devouring fashion magazines it seems I have always focused on the style and fashion of those around me. I finished art school in Cuba and moved to Miami. After years struggling, the unexpected happened and I moved to Minneapolis, where in just a few years I've set up an atelier and am finishing the advanced certificate in fashion at MCTC. I know both that I'm getting started later than others, and that I'm just at the beginning of what I hope to be many years in fashion.
The time before dawn inspired my line of clothes. That soft, hazy, quietness when burgeoning light particles are evaporating the dark. Morning's soft blurred freshness, represented by the light, sheer fabrics, will be transformed for a day by the sun's rays into intense, vivid color, capturing the night in the midnight blue velvet's intensity to be released again only by dusk.
